Introduction
Several groups of people living together or working together makes a community. Community can be categorised n the bases of their castes, colour, gender, religion and much more. A community can also be formed of people having similar interests in common. However, a number of factors can affect the existence of communities in society and some of them are being discussed in this report. 
Communities
It is not necessary that people living together will be categorised under the umbrella of a single community instead their needs to be certain characteristics, norms or other aspects that will make them a community. They can be micro or macro communities depending upon the number of people involve. It can also be called as a small or large social unit that have several norms such as religion, values, identity or even geographical area in common. There are several elements that are required for a group of people to be called as a community as defined by McMillan and Chavis in their study in 1986, membership, influence, reinforcement and shared emotional connection are some of the major aspects that they identified and mentioned as 4 elements of ‘sense of community’ (Wise, 2015). There are several behavioural patterns also that are required for the socialization that is required for the people to connect with each other. 
Current developments in UK communities
Community development is a concept that is emerging and is essential for the overall development of society. This concept is different from the one such as personal development because these deals with the society and also includes the concepts that helps and allow them to adapt to communities. Within UK itself communities have been experiencing a lot of developments one of the major development is Technology platforms or making the technology available for every individual living within that society.
