Definition
    Borderline personality disorder is a mental health issue that impacts the behavior of the individual. As mentioned by Linehan (2018), borderline personality disorder can be defined as the mental disorders, which influence the mood, behavior of the individual and makes it difficult to form stable relationship. This disorder influences the thinking and feeling of the individual towards themselves and others, which resulted in distu
ance of the daily routine. Individual suffering from borderline personality disorder have intense fear of abandonment or instability. There are high anger, impulsiveness and frequent mood swings, which pushed the loved ones away despite individual wished to have loving and lasting relationship.
Causes
    Borderline personality disorder is not caused due to single factor, it can be result of combinations of many factors. As mentioned by Gunderson, Herpertz, Skodol, Torgersen and Zanarini (2018), causes of this disorder include genetics, poor
ain development and environment. In context of genetics, it has been seen that some of the people inherited the borderline personality disorder from their family members. For example. If one of the twins suffered from the disease, there are chances another twin will also likely to suffered from the disease.
    As stated by Becker (2019), it has been seen that abnormalities in certain region of the
ain, which are involved in impulsivity, aggression and emotion regulation resulted in occu
ence of the borderline personality disorder. Apart from this, improper functioning of
ain chemicals that regulated mood such as serotonin can caused the disorder.
