As per GPCF Space shuttle, a maintenance organization that hadn't handled a big change in quite some time implemented and tested a new software capability. GPCF (GPPC Payload Command Filter) was a capability that was available to GPC users. It is hoped that using the GPCF will help the verifier avoid the pitfalls and emulate the successes by learning from what has been done right and wrong. A significant planning and technical deviation occurred throughout the GPCF development process. It will only take time to determine whether the life cycle processes still overloaded the GPCF code verification, even though the initial results were encouraging This results in relatively small packets that are reliable on time. To address this, additional risk mitigation efforts beyond the usual quality assurance activities are being undertaken by the PASS project management.
