Statement of Ethics (AMA) and Code of Conduct (EMC):
Market has grown exponentially in the two most developed regions of the world and so as the
need for the regulations on marketing. Organizations have seen take benefit of the people
through fraudulent acts. However American Marketing association and European marketing
confederation have come up with ethical conduct through Statement of ethics and Code of
conduct respectively a guiding mechanism for all the marketers to provide value to the
costumers, consumers, stakeholders and shareholders.
Similarities
Both ethical codes have a striking similarity when it comes to ethical values like honesty and
integrity in dealings with customers and stakeholders. Priority has always been given to the
transparency in the dealings citizenship and respect the basic dignity of all the stakeholders. It
has also been observed that both the associations have promoted professionalism and asked
organizations for marketing expertise to be used for the benefit of the society. Promotions also
come under the purview of both associations and follow the national advertising code under
which organizations cannot present any false information or using misleading tactics.
