Q1.
Reflective Practice Approach
A.
The reflective practice approach is considered as the method that helps people in learning from their own professional experience. The reflective practice approach helps an individual in recapturing their prior experience and then practicing their future practice on the verge of it. It also helps an individual in analyzing that whether the action that was taken by them previously led them to desired expectations and results or not, and in case if they did not get the desired result then they have to change their approach initially. The reflective practice approach helps an individual in evaluating their previous actions and then working accordingly (Antonacci, 2018).
B.
Three reasons that justify the positive usage of reflective practice approach for improvement of nursing care quality include firstly the quality of nursing care unit is improved as they are more and more exposed to the cases which gives them a practical approach of handling the situations in a better and more efficient way. Next, it helps them to understand and focus on the strength and weaknesses by self-realization which is a very important aspect of the reflective practice approach, knowing someone's strengths and weakness is the best way towards improvisation which will lead to the better quality of the nursing care and then lead to the better handling of the patient in that clinical care unit.
Moving on to the next point and the benefit of the reflective approach, it leads to overall skill development by nourishing all the aspects of nursing care units, it helps them to be more sensitive towards the patient, to be quicker about the decision they would take and the next step they are going to do for better handling of the incoming and existing patients in the clinical care units. It is also noticed that reflective practice approach is the better method of check system than the higher authority looking at them and made them feel their mistakes as sometimes they are not interested in the weakness or strength of them shared by anyone else, hence when they realize this on their own it leads to a greater impact than the check system.
Q2.
A. The continuous professional development and the supervision requirement throughout the nursing practices hold on several aspects and guidelines that are formulated in this context. Some of the prime CPD include-
· Nurses and midwives who are the main representative of the healthcare regime are expected to participate in at least 20 hours of CPD per year.
· In the further context, it is considered that one hour of active learning will be counted as equal to the one hour of CPD. In the meanwhile, it is considered that it is the prime duty of the nurses and the midwives to calculate how many hours of active learning have taken place initially.
· Moving ahead it is also important that the CPD must be relevant to the nurse or midwife context of practice
· Another aspect portrayed by the CPD implies that nurses should be keeping proper written documentation of CPD that evidenced the completion of the specified hour of work per year (Gill, Andersen & Hilsmann, 2019).
These are some of the CPD and supervision that need to be followed and channelized in the nursing practice so that they would be preferably aware of their duties.
B. The term nursing duty of care basically involves all the practices and various methods to protect the patient from any type of harm that reaches a patient directly or indirectly. They are made to understand that it is their prime and utmost duty to...
