Exams Instructions:
• Exams will be administered during the second half of a three-hour lecture day. The student is
esponsible to be on time for exams. No extra time will be provided for late students during exams.
(Note: Exams are closed book). Students will be allowed to have a legal paper sheet (8.5” x 11”)
paper with notes and equations
• Exams must be submitted during the allotted time (about an hour and a half). Late submissions
will not be accepted. Withholding an exam after the allotted time expires, independently of the
eason, will give the student a zero score. All exams must be submitted on time. Contact the
instructor immediately if you are having issues. Once the blackboard upload page is closed, it will
not be reopened again.
• When solving problems, you must show full procedure and it must be clear and readable, which
means I should be able to follow it, to get credit on your answers. Right answers with no justifying
or clear procedure will receive low or no credit at all.
• Drawings and schematics needed and used to solve the problem must be part of your solution,
things like force and torque diagrams, fields, free-body diagrams, circuit drawings, energy
eference lines, integral and differential detailed diagrams usage, conversion factors, etc. are an
essential part of the solution and MUST be included as part of your solution. Solutions missing that
elevant diagrams or information will receive little or no score, even if the results are numerically
ight.
• All answers must be your own, copying from the web, consulting other persons or students is
strictly fo
idden. In your formula sheet, only notes and equations taken from class lectures notes
and/or the course textbook are allowed, the use of any other source is NOT approved and will be
considered a violation of this rule. Using information from the web, other textbooks, advanced
courses taken before, from past or present tutors, or the use of other material to prepare for the
exam that was not part of the course material, are NOT allowed and are still considered external
sources and a violation of this rule. In summary: if it’s not in the textbook or class notes, it cannot
e used in an exam! Any single violation of this particular rule may null the whole exam which
may result in a full exam score of zero or a heavy point penalty at the professor discretion.
• Exam must be scanned and submitted or uploaded through Blackboard as a single document
in Word or PDF file formats only. Do not submit it in any other format, and do not submit single
pictures, they will not be accepted! Be sure to double check you submitted all the proper
documents. After time is up, you will not have any further chances for resubmitting documents for
any reason, even if you forgot or missed them accidentally. You are allowed to submit an exam
as a single file, extra files will NOT be co
ected!
• Do not send exams through email. Only uploaded exams through Blackboard will be co
ected.
Exams submitted through email are not considered an official submission, and will NOT be
co
ected.
