Melanoma was recorded as the fourth most common cancer in Australia in 2016. It is again estimated to be one of the third most commonly diagnosed cancer on the country by the end of 2020. In 2016, there were almost 14500 new causes of melanoma of the skin (Matthews, Li, Qureshi, Weinstock & Cho, 2017). By 2002, the number had risen to almost 16221 new cases with approximately nearly 10,000 males and six thousand plus females.
Risk Factors
The crucial risk factors of melanoma is sun exposure, indoor training, moles, fair skin, family history and it can also arrive from previous skin cancer.  
Pathophysiology of Disease
It is a malignant neoplasm composed of the proliferation of melanocytes and surface epidermis. It has similar features to that of atypical melanocytes within the surface epidermis.
