I did watch the full length documentary Haze and I felt that the message of the
documentary was not only of protesting against the practice of alcohol intake in educational or
social institutions or among teenagers but it also pinpointed the role of different social medias
and websites behind encouraging teenagers to get into the menacing world of alcohol abuse. The
theme of the documentary centered round the alcohol abuse on college campuses but it is never
limited to fraternities and it actually provides many other statistics and ho
ifying consequences
of alcohol abuse by teenagers. One such grim consequence was the death of Gordie Bailey, a
young man who died of alcohol poisoning at his initiation into the Chi Psi fraternity. By seeing
the documentary and by listening to the interviews related to the death of Bailey I was both
shocked and upset. I also was shocked to realize about the role of popular websites like
Youtube.com or Collegehumor.com behind initiating the habit of alcohol abuse and encouraging
teens to take up this evil habit. I realized by seeing the videos within the documentary from sites
like Youtube.com that such popular websites, instead of spreading awareness against alcohol
abuse, ignore the evil of binge drinking among teenagers and young adults and encourage them
to doom themselves by becoming alcoholic. Moreover, I understood that encouragement of
alcoholism through events like drinking games and competitions should be legally banned and
participants of such events should be
ought into legal trials and harsh punitive measures should
e taken against the organizers of such events and this is because these kind of events are
actually ruining the young generations of myriads of countries including the U.S. Besides, by
watching the film I understood that how the alcohol industry is funding money to promote their
poisonous products and how the administration of the country is remaining callous to it. Finally,
y watching the documentary I understood that this is high time that national fraternities should
give up their trend of negatively influencing the youths of the country and this should be done
