Executive Summary
The chronic health condition, which has not been able to implement system thinking in Fiji, is IHD or Ischemic Heart Disease. It has been observed that ischemic heart condition has resulted in increased mortality among the population of Fiji. In this condition, the individual suffers from plaque formation in the arterial walls leading to chest pain and angina. Some of the obstacles that have posed against the implementation of system thinking are the lack of adequate funding in collaborating with state and governmental agencies. Further, there is a lack of education and medical infrastructure in distributing knowledge related to the control of IHD condition in the population. The study evaluates the obstacles that have resulted in increased mortality rates in Fiji due to IHD and the steps for implementation of system thinking have been explored.

System thinking aims in connecting every aspect so that its outcome can be connected in conducting research and ca

The system approach helps in addressing the population health challenges and measures the health of the population based on different inte

The largest number of hospital admission and mortality in Fiji has been due to heart disease. Among the different heart disease, ischemic heart disease is one of the conditions that does not have a system thinking approach in the management of the heart condition. An ischemic heart condition, which is also known as Coronary Heart condition, leads to heart disease-causing restriction in the blood flow to heart, resulting in a heart attack (Extranet, 2020).
