1. What is kinesics and why is it so important in non-ve
al communication?
Kinesics or body language is the communication of different physical actions, such as switching postures, expressions, facial expression and appearance. The role of kinesics in nonve
al communication is important, as it is often used to replace words or oral language to make them more efficient or to alter them. It is true, "Actions talk more clearly than words," so the movement of the body will display the emotions , feelings, feelings, trust , respect, satisfaction, nervousness, ease, uncomfortable, polite, happy, angry and many things.
2. What nonve
al behaviors of yours do you find most effective and why?
Nonve
al forms of communication include facial expressions, movements, loudness or vocal tone, languages of the body, proxemics or personal spaces, eye look, haptics, presence, and objects. A significant proportion of nonve
al communication is responsible for facial expressions. Take into account what details a smile or frown can convey. The expression on a person's face, well before we hear what they have to say, is always the first thing we see. Although non-ve
al communication and actions can differ dramatically across cultures, the facial expressions are similar to those of happiness, so
ow, rage, and fear worldwide. Conscious moving and sending a signal is an important form of conveying meaning without words. Popular movements include waving, pointing and using fingers for numerical numbers. Lawyers were known to use numerous nonve
al gestures to try and influence the decisions of judges in court settings. These nonve
al signs are regarded as so strong and significant that judges also restrict what kind of nonve
al activities in the courtroom are permitted.
3. Do you feel actions speak louder than words? Why? Give an example.
Lying with your words is much easier than lying with your acts because what we are doing is more in alignment with what we want and what we believe. Without strong confidence in it, we can claim something however, the acts, after all, spoke louder than the sentences. For example, all politicians are the same, they all talk but they don't work; they understand that actions speak louder than words.
4. Give a recent example of how have you used your face and facial expressions (kinesics) to send meaning, what meaning did you send? How was it received?
The most expressive feature of our bodies are our faces. Smiles are important signs of contact and are something that we notice instantly. While facial expressions are widely regarded as innate and many are universally identifiable, they are not always associated with an emotional or internal biological-stimulus. For instance, most of the smiles that we create are mostly for others and not necessarily an unintended expression of an emotional internal state. Expressing facially can communicate the tiredness, indignation, uncertainty, annoyance, disappointment, confidence, smuggling, shyness or boring of a speaker. The most relatable example of this the faces that me and my classmates make while boring lectures and the teacher understands it immediately that no one is interested.
