1. Purpose

Then, explain how you will approach your research from an objective standpoint. How will you ensure that you are objective in your collection of evidence? Convince me that you will not fall victim to confirmation bias :)
You have to select a topic that you hope to learn more about, not something you already know a lot about, and already hold strong opinions about. If it feels like you are too personally connected to this topic in a way that will obstruct your objective analysis, then I will encourage you to select something else.Â
3. Preliminary Research
By now, you should have already completed some first-wave investigative research. Explain what information you have learned so far.
What are some of the most interesting pieces of evidence you have found in your early research? Also, explain the types of sources you have targeted. In other words, from what types of sources have you procured your preliminary research?
4. Scholarly Source Check
It is okay if you have yet to actual read scholarly sources for your topic. However, you need to make sure, before you propose a topic idea, that you have confirmed there are scholarly sources available that will contribute to your discussion.Â
Therefore, please include the bibliographic citations for two scholarly sources that you have found, pertaining to your topic. You may cite the source in either APA or MLA standards, but you need to be sure that you are using the co
ect format for citations. If I cannot tell that it is scholarly, then you are in jeopardy of having your topic proposal denied.
