The demand for nurses in the healthcare field is a never-ending process. The problem of scarcity of nurses is faced worldwide. Nursing graduates face various challenges early after their graduation. It is the turning point for them to undergo a transition from an academic to a workplace setting. Transition is nothing but the conversion from one role to another role. Nurses require quality duration to get adapted to the transition of their position, their roles, responsibilities, working environment, etc. It is important to analyze diverse challenges that graduate nurses may face in their transition to the workforce. Based on literature studies, some of the challenges encountered by fresh nursing graduates include Working atmosphere, Workload, Roles, and Responsibilities, Rapport with colleagues, Communication, lack of confidence, and many more (Baker, 2020). To overcome this, the implementation of particular strategies focusing on the confidence of nurses is of utmost importance. This promotes confidence in them thus providing them with a better solution. The important challenges encountered by nursing professionals are discussed.
Workload plays one of a vital role in the transition of nurses from an academic setting to healthcare environment.  Nurses experience a lot of workloads from doing small paperwork to managing various other tasks due to less manpower. This makes them stressed at the workplace. Due to their workload, they will be unable to provide time for other patient-related support making them face more challenges.
