1. Is it realistic to expect managers to use organizational behavior theories to manage employees and/or direct reports? What organizational and individual ba

2. Will work motivation theories be useful for employers within the next ten years as firms move towards
expanding their reliance on artificial intelligence and other labor savings technologies? Please explain how firms should think about this, particularly from the perspective of motivation and engagement theories.
3. Describe why constructive conflict might be helpful for firm, unit, and individual performance. In answering this question, please explain how firms should manage conflict unrelated to work (i.e., national politics). Please evaluate the intended and unintended consequences of your proposed actions on the well-being and motivation of the workforce.
4. A problem in organizations is to view individual performance problems as “this person was a hiring
mistake.” What are the short- and long-term consequences of so-called hiring mistakes? How should
organizations deal with so-called hiring mistakes or problem workers who seem to be adapting poorly to
their chosen work roles? What are the costs and benefits of your proposed approach/solutions from both the perspective of the organization and the jobholder? If possible, please relate this question to your own work experiences.

Be sure to provide a rationale for any position you take.

Question 1
The expectation that managers will apply organizational behavior theories to manage subordinates and direct reports is reasonable. To practice organizational behavior at the workplace, however, might be difficult due to a number of organizational and personal constraints. Organizational hurdles can be things like resource shortages, reluctance to change, and rigid organizational structures. Managers may find it difficult to put organizational behavior theories that promote employee engagement and empowerment into practice in an organization with a hierarchical structure and a top-down approach, for instance. The successful use of organizational behavior theories can also be hampered if the organization lacks the resources required to implement these theories, such as training and development programmes.
Issues like aversion to change, a lack of drive, and divergent values and views are examples of personal obstacles. It could be difficult for managers to implement organizational behavior theories that promote innovation and creativity, for instance, if workers are reluctant to change and prefer to operate in a more traditional manner. Additionally, it may be difficult to successfully use these theories if staff members lack motivation and do not understand the benefit of using organizational behavior. As organizations continue to deal with rising competition, shifting demographics, and evolving technologies, these impediments will become more significant during the coming ten years. Managing personnel who hold various values and views, for instance, will be more difficult as organizations diversify (Ferguson & Rivera, 2022).
Question 2
Even as businesses increase their dependence on artificial intelligence and other laborsaving technology, work motivation theories will still be helpful for employers in 10 years. In order to understand how to drive employees to perform successfully even in the face of new technologies, motivation and engagement theories are crucial. Employers can make use of these theories to design a workplace that encourages engagement, development, and...
