Qualitative research is a form of social enquiry.  The main objective of qualitative research emerges from a multiple of search traditions and disciplines.  
Qualitative research is
Interpretive – Because it understands the experiences of people in the word in a natural manner
Naturalistic—This includes social phenomena in natural settings.
In layman language, qualitative research can be explain as the process of
i) Investigate the meanings or sense of people’s representation about a certain thing or experience in their natural way of expression
ii) Lots of people are interrogated for this purpose and the aim is to record their feelings in their own way of expression
iii) Systematic collection and organization of the data thus collected by the two methods above.
