The great depression which crippled America during the late 90s was tackled by Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. The deal provided a series of social and government spending programs which provided millions back to the Americans. The reform act started from new deal had encouraged the labor movement, which had started the wage growth and that enabled the sustaining purchase power to the millions of Americans. This initiated major construction projects that were started and become successful over the period of time. Therefore, the new deal by President Roosevelt did succeed (Lehndorff).

The new deal held least the African Americans as their agony and hardship did continued. Most of the federal programs were discriminatory and favored the white American. Further there is a discouragement in working together of husband and wife in many jobs. The stimulus that was provided by the government was also not large enough to address the vast challenges faced by the Americans because of the impact of great depression. The World War II was the source which created a huge job opportunity because of the preparation for the war, had resulted into the end of great depression (Sterne).

Hitler had shown extreme cruelty against Jews, which the U.S. government had learned as soon as it began in the Soviet Union on 1941. In the entire war Allied nations had only prioritized in defeating the Nazi government and they were least bothered about saving Jews. However United States could have done more by simply defeating the Nazis which was their political goal, they could have publicized information about the atrocities that Nazi’s did and could have pressured other Allies and neutral nations to support and help endangered Jews and supported the resistance group who were against the Nazis (Jennings).
