How much should we blame management for poor team performance?

In the very first lecture of this course, I allude to the less-than-stellar play of the Miami Marlins since they rebranded themselves and opened a new ballpark in 2012. Much of the team’s poor on-field performance has been blamed on the team’s owner, Derek Jeter(see here (Link to an external site) and more here(Link to an external site).

When a team plays below expectations, who’s ultimately responsible? The players? The coach? The GM? The owner? What do you think?
