Introduction
In a clinical placement a ho
ified experience, which still chills my spine when I think about it was experienced by me. During COVID we as front line workers were supposed to be on our toes and deal with patients. The stress became so high that the nurses started fainting at the workplace. They were not able to take proper rest and eat healthy meals. Due to safety restrictions and PPE kits the dehydration was another challenge.
Management dealt with the issue by placing request with medical institutions to provide more nurses to the hospital and inviting volunteers as a substitution (Stovall, Hansen & van Ryn, 2020). The resting rooms were provided because due to infection fear nurses were not allowed to go homes for a period of 20 days.
The condition was so worse at that time that despite knowing the fact that the situation is taking toll on the health of nurses me and other nurses were not able to raise our voices.
Organisational culture
An inclusive organisational culture makes it possible for the nurses to speak for their safety. t is required that workplace and the managers should be open to listen he concerns of the front line workers because they are the people who will be dealing with patients and if their concerns are not addressed then they will not be able to deliver...
