Brief Summary
The article ‘standing vs. sitting’ explains the importance of body movement in the modern working environment. In other words, the article tries to explain the impacts of the modern working environment especially desk jobs on our health. Thus, the article gives importance to standing in our workplaces.
Variables of the research
One of the most important variables in the article ‘standing vs. sitting’ is the impact of the modern workplaces in the deterioration of human health. The author of the article says that standing during work, adds benefit to human health. One of the best examples that have been provided is the health of the bus conductors are good compared to the health of the bus drivers.
Results of the analysis
The results that have been presented in the article explain that the way of thinking of society impacts the approach of human beings to be healthy. To explain this author of the article has given two scenarios. If two employees working in the same organisation are going to work by a bicycle and a car respectively, in most cases society thinks that the one who goes in the car must have a better position in the company (Chau et al. 2016).
Analysis of statement
The statements that have been mentioned by the author in the article are quite obvious. Body movement or staying in motion helps to stay healthy (Thorp et al. 2016). However, the working environment of modern workplaces, restrict human beings from doing so. Hence, this kind of working environment is somehow responsible for the deterioration of human health to some extent.

People working in the sectors where desk job is given importance, employees should try to take
eaks in between their job, to make their body move and thus will improve their health.
